'Lord of the Rings'-fans reageren enorm gemengd op de eerste trailer
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power kan nu al niet iedereen overtuigen.

I want this to be great with all my heart as I adore the Tolkien universe, but so far this looks worrying, it's giving me The Hobbit esque vibes and not in a good way. Way too lacquered
I just cant understand all these people bitching about the show being not perfectly accurate in relation to the books. Its an ADAPTATION. And judging from this trailer, a very good one.
Just accept you're not getting what you wanted, but still smth good, and youll be fine.
When I saw the first scene I knew it was the LOTR show. But then the next part looked like a video game, so I thought I was wrong. And then the next scene looked like LOTR again, but then went back to looking like a fantasy app. The effects and CGI looks like a VR game…
Eh. Just looks like another generic fantasy film, doesn't really give of a middle earth type of vibe and everything looks way too clean and polished. Lord Of The Rings was more gritty which really made middle earth stand out. Hopefully it's good but this teasers got me nervous
First thoughts:
- not like LOTR at all. More Witcher meets Wheel of Time.
- music does not have the epic Howard Shore feel to it.
- special effects look like special effects. Where is the organic feel of New Zealand?
- it's a teaser trailer - I am underwhelmed at this stage. 😔
Looks like utter crap. 1 billion dollars, years in the making, the death of Christopher Tolkien (followed by massive rewrites), firing Tolkien scholar Shippy,... and now you have a trailer that looks like generic tripe with the usual modern wokeness.
Anyone else think the actors and general editing style look way to bright and sharp and clean? Like it feels like an actor in a studio not a person camping outside, because of the lighting and makeup. it doesn't "feel" right as an aesthetic for high fantasy.
