Machinima heeft vandaag aangekondigd dat de vorig jaar aangekondigde serie Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist zal worden uitgezonden op hun Youtube-kanaal, dat eerder ook al twee seizoenen van Mortal Kombat: Legacy uitzond. The live-action series, which is distributed by Content Media, is the brainchild of Joey Ansah (The Bourne Ultimatum, Snow White and the Huntsman), a member of the creative team behind the hugely successful fan film Street Fighter: Legacy"”which has received almost 5,000,000 views to date. Ansah, who also stars in the series (Akuma), wrote the script with Christian Howard, who reprises his role as Ken Masters from the original fan film. The series also stars Mike Moh as Ryu, Togo Igawa (47 Ronin, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Last Samurai) as Gōtetsu, Akira Koieyama as Gōken, Gaku Space as Gōki, Mark Killeen (300: Rise of an Empire, The Dark Knight Rises) as Mr. Masters, and Hal Yamanouchi as Senzo. Through the coming of age story of Ken & Ryu, we are shown the back story of some of the game's most iconic characters, and over the course of the series we will see how the past, present, and future of all of those characters are intertwined, as the battle to become Ansatsuken Master threatens to tear apart another generation of brothers.

Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist is Machinima's latest live-action series based on one of the world's best-selling video game franchises, and is one which will very much stay true to the game, featuring fight moves and action performed by the cast with stunning attention to detail. It follows on the heels of last year's highly successful airing of Mortal Kombat: Legacy 2, the successor to, Mortal Kombat: Legacy, as well as Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. Combined, the three series have garnered more than 130,000,000 views on Machinima.

A thrilling, multilayered series, Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist takes the audience back to the formative years of iconic characters Ryu and Ken as they live a traditional warrior's life in secluded Japan. The boys are, unknowingly, the last practitioners of the ancient fighting style known as "Ansatsuken" (Assassin's Fist). The series follows them as they learn about the mysterious past of their master, Gōken, and the tragic, dark legacy of the Ansatsuken style. Can their destiny be changed, or will history repeat itself?

"Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist is what a live-action Street Fighter should be," said Ansah when he announced the project at last year's San Diego Comic-Con. "This takes the story right back to the start: the origins and motivations of Ryu, Ken, Gōken and Akuma. This will become the definitive back-story from which further epic adventures will follow."

"Our priority is to stay true to the appearance, fighting techniques, and canon of the Street Fighter game," Quella added. "At the same time, we've managed to make this an emotion- and character-driven story, which will surprise viewers who might just be expecting a super-faithful fight fest!"

The series is produced by Assassin's Fist Limited (a UK based company) in association with Lonely Rock Productions, Gloucester Place Films, Capcom U.S.A., Inc. and Evropa Film.

CBS heeft een paar foto's van de op één na laatste aflevering van How I Met Your Mother vrijgegeven. En wat blijkt? Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) en Robin (Cobie Smulders) halen het altaar. Verder zullen we in de aflevering The End of the Aisle hoe Marshall (Jason Segel) en Lily (Alyson Hannigan) een overwinning vieren op Barney, en hoe die twee hun geloftes opnieuw afleggen.

Overigens heeft CBS ook al een synopsis voor de laatste aflevering van de serie vrijgegeven. Deze onthult vrijwel niets: "Ted maakt het verhaal waarin hij zijn kinderen vertelt hoe hij hun moeder ontmoet heeft eindelijk af, in de speciale één uur durende laatste aflevering van 'How I Met Your Mother'".

De op één na laatste aflevering, The End of the Aisle is in de Verenigde Staten op 24 maart te zien. De laatste op 31 maart.

Er is weer een nieuw personage toegevoegd aan de cast van de Britse serie Doctor Who. Het betreft Keeley Hawes, die de rol van Ms. Delphox speelt. Dat personage wordt omschreven als een "machtig karakter dat niet van deze wereld is, en een duister geheim met zich meedraagt."

Een officiële foto van Hawes als Ms. Delphox is er ook al, die kun je hierboven bekijken. Klik op de afbeelding voor een vergroting. We zullen de mysterieuze Ms. Delphox ontmoeten tijdens een van de vele reizen van de twaalfde Doctor (Peter Capaldi) en zijn reisgenoot Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman). De aflevering is geschreven door Steve Thompson en zal geregisseerd worden door Douglas Mackinnon.

Over haar rol had Hawes het volgende te zeggen: "Ik ben blij me bij Doctor Who te mogen voegen en met dit geweldige team samen te mogen werken. Ms. Delphox is een geweldig personage en iemand die ik met veel plezier gespeeld heb."

Verder had Steve Moffat ook nog wat te vertellen: "Iedereen die Jed Mercurio's fantastische serie 'Line of Duty' gezien heeft, weet dat Keeley Hawes een fantastisch jaar heeft. En dat wordt nu nog beter met haar rol als gemene bankier in Doctor Who."

Wanneer de eerste aflevering van seizoen 8 in première gaat is nog niet bekend.

Net als de afgelopen seizoenen heeft HBO ook dit jaar een recap vrijgegeven van wat er tot nu toe gebeurd is in Game of Thrones. Het derde seizoen zit zo vol met twists dat bovenstaande video dit jaar maar liefst 25 minuten duurt. Mocht je dus weer de Red Wedding willen beleven, zet de video dan vooral aan!

Over een kleine drie weken is de eerste aflevering van seizoen vier te zien op HBO. In de Verenigde Staten debuteert het seizoen op 6 april, in Nederland op 7 april, op HBO Nederland. Er is overigens ook al een synopsis voor het nieuwe seizoen, die wel veel details weggeeft.

Bemoedigd door het feit dat er bij de Red Wedding in de Riverlands zoveel van hun Stark-vijanden gesneuveld zijn, houden de Lannisters vast aan de Iron Throne. Maar staan hun ego's dat niet in de weg? En nieuwe bedreigingen komen op in het zuiden, noorden en oosten. Terwijl Stannis Baratheon in Dragonstone zijn leger opnieuw opbouwt, komt er een directere bedreiging uit het zuiden, in de vorm van Oberyn Martell, de Lannister-hatende "Red Viper of Dorne", aan in King's Landing. Hij is daar om het huwelijk van Joffrey en Margaery Tyrell bij te wonen, maar lijkt ook een geheime agenda te hebben. In het noorden staat de Night's Watch kansloos tegenover het enorme leger van Mance Rayder, dat op zijn beurt op de vlucht is voor een grotere vijand: de ondode White Walkers. En alsof dat niet genoeg was, probeert Daenerys Targaryen, vergezeld door haar drie draken en een leger van Unsullied, de Mereen te bevrijden, de grootste stad in Slaver's Bay. Als haar dat lukt, heeft ze genoeg schepen om de oversteek naar Westeros te maken, en de Iron Throne te veroveren…

Na de eerste indrukken op The Flash zie je hieronder een eerste foto van het personage John Constantine uit de serie Constantine, waarvoor op dit moment de pilot wordt geregisseerd door Neil Marshall, bekend van de horrorfilm The Descent (2005).

De titelrol wordt gespeeld door Matt Ryan, eerder te zien in Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. Producent David S. Goyer over Ryans Constantine: "Deze Constantine lijkt precies op de Constantine van de covers van de comics. Zowel de oude als de nieuwe fans zullen verrast worden."

De serie rond het DC Comics/Vertigo-personage moet te zien zijn op de zender NBC.
